Maybe a stupid question, but i'm out of GF food for about two days now. I will get new food at the end of next week. ( i feed only Hikari Fancy Goldfish and bloodworms/frozen stuff ) My question: how long can they go without food? Is there a chance that they could starve to death? I'm a little worried, the shops are all closed today *sunday* and the next few days i will not have the time to get food because i am at work
i feel really bad about it, but on the other hand, the fish are very healthy and stil activ. _________________ Dutch Goldfish Lover |

In Thailand, goldfish competitions usually last for about 9 to 10 days. Including fasting before the competition, the goldfish will be without food for about 2 weeks. _________________ http://epowersystem.com |

Depend on the water you keep in. If in GW the fish may live forever without food. If in CW, but likely the fish would shrink in a couple of weeks. _________________ LauLanChu

I have read in many forums and book that it is safe and sometimes beneficial to fast your GF for 3-4 days but further it would stress your fish.
I recommend to feed them with peeled green peas while you are waiting for GF food. You can get frozen one or fresh one but make to peel them as they cannot digest the shell. My GF love them. _________________ I Hope helped by sharing, Alex.
