Pic not clear, look like carp pox. you doing the right thing by seperating as it is contagious. no known cure from my knowledge, keep the water clean and hope it disappear. _________________ LauLanChu

You would need to get close up picture from area in question. White spots as LLC stated is carp pox and safe, it is not contagious, before returning the fish to main tank, try to take a close up picture and post it to figure if it is a problem or not.
Red dot on gill cover might be parasite, lets wait for close up picture and then decide, if it was parasite your would need to treat entire tank, perhaps it is better to not move any fish around until make sure it is parasite or not.

thank bros for all the valuable inputs, unfortunately it had pass on. didnt manage to wait for me . anyways i'd did a 50% water change for the main tank due to unhealthy water para and put salt in my tank for contingency measures. unfortunately i didnt manage to take pics and autosy the poor bugger. so i couldnt post any pics for all bros to analyse. my wife was too anxious to "bury" it.
hope the rest hang tough during the water cycling period _________________ Tank set-up
