Because it is selected from a tank of Chinese Oranda.

That is not fungus lah! Its the slime from the body when I catch him from the tank to the "photo studio". This fella very active. Never stop swimming. Always disturbing the "girls" in the tank.

It has a much better prominent headgrowth, finage wise lose out as not very proportion. proabably that is the reason you bought it as seed fish?

This is a real tategoi. Good catch.
But i'm a bit concern on the dorsal fin.

note: In the koi world, Tategoi is a term used to describe koi that are still at some stage of their development and are not yet "finished".

Nice head grown, reminds me of my award winning Black Oranda due to head shape.

In the chinese appreciation, oranda with headgrowth that resemble a fierce looking lion is high regarded. This is one of the 'forgotton' appreciation.
